As from the the start of 2008 there has been a ROUTE ENHANCEMENT on the Way, replacing 4 miles of road walking with a pleasant riverside path on the banks of the Tay and then countryside walk along the line of an old railway.

From:
  • Aberfeldy

Riverside walk to the east of Dewar's World of Whisky

To:
  • Strathtay

This enhancement has been made possible by the recent work to establish a "Core Path" between Aberfeldy and Grandtully on the south bank of the River Tay. This new section of the Rob Roy Way then links up to the previous route at Strathtay on the north bank of the Tay, continuing as before over the well established "Right of Way" to Pitlochry.

To assists the navigation of this revised section you may access any of the following:

  • The new route is detailed on the website and can be accessed by clicking here.
  • The second edition of the Rob Roy Way is the definitive guidebook for the route. Anyone ordering this publication with dropdown map, suberb illustrations and written and published by Rucksack Readers will now receive an insert page providing this route detail. There is also a downloadable PDF file on their website.
