Temporary Route Diversion |
Over the period that started in Spring 2006 and running until September 2006 there is a route diversion on the Strathyre Forest section to accommodate forest harvesting. Although the activity will be restricted to the working week we would advise all walkers to use the alternative route even at weekends as the forestry work may cause the tracks to be rough and muddy. |

At Strathyre the forestry walk to the east of the Munro Inn to Kings House near to Balquhidder Station is closed. The diversion is to the west of Strathyre and on the west side of the River Balvag. The diverted route follows the waymarked cycle route from Strathyre to Stroneslaney, Balquhidder Church, were Rob Roy MacGregor's grave is located, then east along the narrow public road to the common point just west of Kings House Hotel. The route closed is represented by the black dots, the diversionary route by the red dots. We are sorry that the diversion is in place as there is some additional road walking and extra distance, however the plus is the fact that the way temporarily passes the Rob Roy grave. Watch this space for new on the diversion. |
