A seven day walk across the Southern Highland of Scotland taking in some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK. Starting from Drymen on the West Highland Way it goes north east to finish in Pitlochry.
The Way is 79 or 92 miles - 127 or 148Km dependent on route choice.

This walk follows the tracks and paths used by Rob Roy MacGregor in the 17th & 18th centuries as he worked fought and lived the life of Scotland's most notorious outlaw. The paths were also well used by other historical characters throughout the Jacobite uprisings, and the feuds between the local clans.
Sense the history of Scotland as you travel through glens, along rivers & burns and past mountains & lochs. Soak up some of Scotland's greatest scenery.

As of the start of March 2008 the official route has been altered on the 5 mile section between Aberfeldy and Strathtay, eliminating a section of tarmac and introducing river and countryside paths. The website has been amended to reflect this enhancement.

This, the Official Website, is designed to provide you with the information needed to plan, participate in and get the most out of this long distance walk. The walk is defined in detail, the site provides interesting details on the history and general activites to be found on the route, and offers a comprehensive planning & booking facility.

Rob Roy Challenge
The Rob Roy Way webmaster / route developers are pleased to have an association with The Rob Roy Challenge. This event first took place in June 2006 and was made possible with the support of Martin Currie (Investment Managers).
This years challenge was be on Saturday 23rd June 2007 and followed the succcessful format of the inaugural event of 2006. It was a combined walking and cycling challenge along three quarters of the Way and it raised funds for deserving charities.
This year there was another high tournout with 588 competitors took part and 91% gaining the Gold standard. As with the first event this raises large sums of money for good causes and it will again distributed substantial sums to the three charities selected.
Already the organisers are looking to the third running of the Challenge We hope that the third event will be even bigger than the first two and we would encourage you to link to the Challenge website for details. The date to place in the diary is 21st June 2008.
