Diversion lifted: no more extra 5 miles/8 km Aberfoyle to Callander

From Wednesday 7 January until Thursday 22 January the Way between Aberfoyle and Callander was nearly 5 miles/8 km longer than normal because felling operations closed the Braeval car park and promoted trails. Until harvesting was completed, walkers had to follow Cycle Route 7 which meanders north through Achray Forest to turn east along the shore of Loch Venachar. The diverted route is shown in bright pink on the attached map, with the red hatched area showing the felling area. The diversion was well signed.

Happily the work finished ahead of schedule and as of 22 January the normal route had reopened.
