A 5-mile easy section of pavement, riverside paths and railway trackbed leads to Grandtully, where you cross the River Tay. Pass through Strathtay Golf Club on a public footpath that climbs steadily beside the Tullypowrie Burn.
The next section needs careful navigation, especially in poor visibility: it takes you to a gate near the corner of Fonab Forest.
The forest road passes the wonderful four-poster stone circle pictured above, then descends on the Clunie Walk and passes the fish ladder to end at Pitlochry by its Memorial Garden.
