Foresters are clearing the windblown trees in the problem section of Malling Forest: see earlier posts. We were told this would close the current route from 4-30 December, but clearly the work is taking longer and as of mid-January the path is still closed. Diversion signage is in place and must be followed.
The National Park plans to build a new section of path in 2024. Once the clearance is complete, the ground conditions must be assessed to determine the best route.
It is not yet clear what route the NP expects walkers to follow in 2024 but we are trying to find out.
